Câu hỏi thường gặp
Giải đáp từ đội ngũ Cedarline Physiotherapy & Wellness. Có thắc mắc khác, hãy gọi hoặc đặt lịch và hỏi.
Do I need a doctor's referral?
Not to see us. Physiotherapy and massage therapy are both direct-access in BC. Some extended health plans ask for a referral before they will reimburse, so it is worth checking your own plan. ICBC and WorkSafeBC claims do not need one either.
Do you bill my insurance directly?
For most extended health plans, yes. We submit at the end of the visit and you pay only what your plan does not cover. ICBC and WorkSafeBC claims are billed directly to the insurer. Bring your claim number and your date of accident and the front desk handles the rest.
What should I wear?
Something you can move in, and shorts if we are looking at a knee, hip or ankle. If you come straight from work, that is fine. There are shorts and gowns here.
How long is my appointment?
A first physiotherapy assessment is 45 minutes, follow-ups are 30. Massage is booked as 30, 45, 60 or 90 minutes. Pelvic health and concussion assessments are a full hour.
What is IMS or dry needling?
A thin needle is used to reach a tight band of muscle directly, which releases it in a way hands-on work sometimes cannot. It is not acupuncture. The reasoning is anatomical rather than meridian-based. Expect a deep cramping sensation during, and a day or two of dull ache afterwards.
Is physiotherapy covered by MSP?
MSP Supplementary Benefits cover part of the cost of a limited number of visits a year for people with a lower income who qualify. Everyone else pays privately or through an extended health plan. Tell the front desk if you think you qualify and they will check before your first visit.
What if I need to cancel?
Let us know at least 24 hours ahead and there is no charge. When you book online, we save a card and hold a $25 deposit on it for most visits, charged only if you miss the appointment without cancelling. Cancelling with less than 24 hours notice costs 50% of the service price. ICBC and WorkSafeBC visits take no deposit, and missing one costs $75. Insurers will not cover a late cancellation or a missed visit, so that fee is out of pocket.
Where do I park?
There is metered parking on the street and a small free lot behind the building off the lane. The clinic is on the ground floor with step-free access, and the treatment rooms and gym are all on the one level.
